A mouse paradise--artisan cheese shop opens in Bay City

Cheese, cheese and more cheese. It's kind of like walking into fromage heaven when you walk through the doors at Artigiano Artisan Cheese Shoppe in Bay City.

The shop, which is owned by Mike and Cindy Parker, is where foodies will be flocking so they can get their hands on more than five dozen varieties of cheese that rank all the way form the simply swiss and mozzarella all the way to the savory Gruyere and goat cheese.

In short, there's a cheese for everyone at Artigiano, which is located at 815 N. Saginaw St.

For those who've been to local farmers markets or Caro, the name may sound familiar. That's because the Parkers' new shop in Bay City is Artigiano's second location.

Looking for something to try that you may not have had before? Consider the Delice de Bourgogne, or the Humboldt Fog goat cheese.

And don't worry if you aren't sure you'll like a particular cheese or not -- samples are available.

In addition to the selection of cheeses available, Artigiano also has platters, gift baskets and a cheese-of-the-month club (which just sounds like a delicious Christmas gift idea).

The cheese shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and until 6 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday you can do your shopping between noon and 5 p.m.
