Beef and Barley opens in Flint

A new restaurant that offers a little something for the whole family is now open in Flint Township.

Beef and Barley is located at 2055 South Linden Road and opened its doors to Flint-area customers in December after four months of renovation on the 6,000-square-foot building, according to an announcement from the Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce. It's located in the former Ruggero's restaurant in the Lincor Park Shopping Center and owned by Najib and Ghassan Saab.

The extensive menu focuses on American dishes with an innovative approach, and pairs dishes like chicken and waffles, Philly steak and cheese, or New York strip steak with 16 taps of craft beers. Its steak menu has specialty house-made sauces and butters accompanying favorite cuts of meat, which is typical of the whole menu, which the owners are approaching with a emphasis on hand-made. Rolls and pizza dough are baked on-site; sauces and soups are created in the kitchen; steaks and fries are hand-cut; and even the burgers are made by hand.

"We believe the personal care and imagination that we put into every dish shows in the final product," says Ghassan Saab. "Based on the feedback that we have received, I'm proud to say our customers agree."

The new restaurant held a more official grand opening at the end of February with the help of the chamber. Team One Commercial Services announced it helped with the commercial loan financing for Beef and Barley.
