It looks like the good folks of Bay City who sport a love for cupcakes have a reason to be very, very excited.
That's because Midland-based
Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe just opened the doors on a new location on Washington Street, right next door to the good ol' State Theater. They also have a shop in Saginaw, which opened in 2011.
The company, owned by Carrie Fisher, has loads of goodies for you to satisfy your sweet tooth with. They've been delighting customers in Midland for years, and now they are bringing their creative cupcakes, cookies (they pretty much have the best sugar cookies ever, by the way) and other tasty treats to Bay City. When the bakery opened its doors last weekend, it was already selling out of some of its most popular flavors, like lemon drop. In total, the Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe typically has two dozen flavors available.
If you want to stop in and try one of their creations (we highly recommend it, actually), you can do so between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday through Saturday.
