Quantum Composites to invest in Monitor Township facility, adding six jobs

Quantum Composites, a division of The Composites Group located in Monitor Township near Bay City, announced it will be adding jobs and equipment with the help of a tax abatement.

The division, which makes advanced composites for customers in several industries, is located in the Valley Center Technology Park. The Monitor Township board granted Quantum an 11-year, 50 percent tax abatement on its property. In turn, Quantum committed to a capital investment plan that will create six jobs over the next two years.

Part of the investment is $400,000 of equipment that will show customers how Quantum Composites' products perform in specific applications, such as the group's products for the aerospace, defense, auto and recreation industries, says Quantum general manager Wisdom Dzotsi.

Bay Future was part of the process to work out the tax abatement and investment agreement.
