Saginaw Valley State University's racing program is making dreams come true--and not all of them revolve around crossing a finish line.
Excerpt: Jacob Sharpe doesn't have great aspirations of designing a race car that could compete at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
But the Davison resident is using the knowledge and hands-on experience he is gaining in Saginaw Valley State University's Cardinal Formula SAE Racing Program as a launchpad to reach his ultimate objective--space.
"Ever since I can remember, I read books about space," Sharpe said. "Every kid likes construction equipment and race cars."
