One of the great forces that shaped the Great Lakes Bay region historically is the lakes, and shipping and sailing. That history still has an impact today, in the Tall Ships celebration in Bay City.
Excerpt: Peggy Wilderman, co-owner of Espresso Express Coffee House in downtown Bay City, says the 2013 Tall Ship Celebration was a success, and the proof is in her guest book.
"People have signed our guest book from all over the world," Wilderman said Monday, July 15, as she watched the majestic tall ships from her shop at 916 N. Water St. in downtown Bay City.
